2. A Song Title (Week 35)

Yellow Submarine” ~ Beatles song written by Paul McCartney ~

I’ve referred to the Motormaids here before, so as you may now know, this is a national group of women motorcyclists.  We gather to ride and support each other.  In Florida we put on an event every month around the state.  Locally we put on the Spring Fling and each year choose a theme.  To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles coming to America, this year we decided our event was to be “Beatlemania.”   Friday night as the ladies arrived, we had our “Meet n Greet” with a fish and chips dinner.  Saturday there usually is a ride to an “experience”.   After a scenic ride, 65 motorcyclists arrived at “The NBC Studio”  for lunch and an afternoon of Beatles “Rockband”.   Saturday night many husbands joined us back in “England” with more British fare, laughs, and fun.  As always, the ladies went above and beyond with decorations and I’ve included a few here that reflect one of the Beatles’ song titles.

Yellow Submarine” is a 1966 song by the Beatles.  It was written by Paul McCartney.  It became the most successful song to feature Ringo Starr as a lead vocalist.  The single went to number 1 on the British charts for four weeks and remained on the chart for 13 weeks.  In the U.S. the song peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
