52 week's of Marie's Life

52 weeks captured through photos

10. Framed (Week 32)

” Love makes a house a home. ”   ~Unknown~

When you are having a house built, it’s exciting to see the framework go up.

And you drive many times to the site in anticipation of the progress that’s been made since your last trip.

I had my own agenda on this trip, however.  My goal was to fulfill the Photo Challenge theme of “Framed”, as I looked out of the various windows of my son’s new home.

My son Brian and his wife Jen (who is “framed” in the next picture) have a lot to look forward to this year!

~ Happiness makes a home.  Big or small.  New or old.  All it needs is a loving family to make a house a home. ~

52. What’s Cooking (Week 31)

“At a round table there is no dispute about place.” ~ Italian Proverb ~

Tonight we went to Buca Di Beppo in Brandon with a group of friends.  As the hostess brings you to your seats, you are taken through the kitchen.  Since I knew “What’s Cooking” was one of the themes for our photo challenge, I had my camera ready!

Oh, wait – what do we have back there??

That’s got to be the biggest dessert I’ve ever seen!!

Buca Di Beppo, which roughly translates as “Joe’s Basement”, is an American restaurant chain that serves Italian-American food family style.  The first restaurant opened on a basement level in a Minnesota apartment building in 1993.  At present, there are almost 100 restaurants operating nationwide.

Most locations offer a table inset into the wall directly across from the kitchen.  Here the waiters and chefs will talk with you and perhaps allow you to sample many dishes.  Buca has many themed dining rooms and is known for thousands of closely spaced vintage photographs on all of the walls.  The most unique room has a single round table that has the bust of the Pope as a centerpiece.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience, you must check out Buca Di Beppo.  Just keep in mind the family-style portions, as my dessert photo illustrates!

45. That’s So Funny (Week 30)

“Birds of a feather flock together.” ~ Proverb ~

Our Motormaid group visited Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach,  Florida, last month and we were told that a visit to the aviary was a must.   We were not disappointed.  Whether you paid to feed the lorry and lorikeet nectar or not, we laughed as they flew all around us and landed on our heads.  And the activity did not distract my friend Val from talking on her cell phone!

11. Golden Mean (Week 29)

“Act as if what you do makes a difference.  It does.”  William James

The Golden Mean is everywhere – but these men at lunch didn’t mind being the subjects for this theme.  Now if only this shot was taken off center, we’d have two golden means in one!
