“A treasure to a little boy does not consist of money, gems or jewelry. He will find far greater pleasure in the wonder of a rock, pebble, stick or beetle.” ~ Author Unknown ~
I just returned from a visit with my grandsons in Virginia and we had so much fun. Each morning my daughter Tricia took us out to a different park in the area. And each time, Ethan couldn’t resist tossing pebbles and small rocks in the water to watch them splash.
He could have done this all day!
The best memories are those made outside!
These photos and, of course many more, were taken at Old Mill Park, which is adjacent to the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg.

Great shot…did he have to skip a lot of stones for you to catch the splash?

He plunked a lot of stones into this river and a stream in Prince William Park and I took a lot of pictures so I could sort through for a favorite. I caught a lot of ripples! Maybe that would be a theme at a later date! The stones weren’t flat enough to skip, but I don’t think this 2 year old could master that yet.

Adorable photos, especially the last one with blurred edges.

Thank you. And thank you for noticing the 3rd picture with the depth. That was a great picture to utilize the Depth of Field effect and I was happy how it turned out. I see you have a dog, Shelby: I bet you could get some great splashes!

Thank you – Clara, enjoy your grandson visit to Michigan later this month. The lakes are even bigger up there – you may need bigger rocks!
